In a nutshell, as chartered accountants, we are required to uphold high ethical and professional standards, go through rigorous training in order to qualify and once qualified, undergo continuous professional development year in year out for the duration the membership.
What this means for you is that you are working with chartered accountants that are up to date with most recent tax legislation, accountants who are highly technically competent, skilled and experienced. Therefore, one can also argue that they are more reliable accountants for you.
Choosing a chartered accountant gives you peace of mind that your advisor is knowledgeable and experienced in a wide range of financial matters including financial management, auditing, business strategy, and taxation.
This reputation is widely accepted by institutions such as the banks, lenders, local councils and home office:
• Banks often require letters from chartered accountants to open business bank accounts.
• Mortgage lenders often require accounts to be completed by chartered accountants and also often require a document called accountants certificate to be signed by chartered accountants.
• Local councils for commercial lease purposes often require business plans to be completed by chartered accountants,
• Home office for certain visa purposes prefer documentations to be prepared by chartered accountants.
