Why choose Chartered Accountants?

So, what is the difference between a chartered accountant and a non-chartered accountant? 

Or in another words, why work with a chartered accountant who is a member of a widely accepted and recognised professional accounting body such as ICAEW (The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants)?
